#BackFromTheLivingEP is a brand new offering in my "SPeeKa presents" series of projects - the first one since the start of the new decade. This time around I linked up with one of Katlehong's finest MCs, IgnitiOn. We dropped the first single titled "The Wire" on the 15th of March 2021 (which is both my late father and IgnitiOn's birthday) to positive feedback. Shortly after that, IgnitiOn tore up the mic in the second season of KZN Lockdown Cypher Meets Sotra Cyphers.
The 7 track EP comprises matured content, with the Katlehong spitter touching on topics such as the state of politics in South Africa, the hardships that the black community is subjected to, modern-day youth culture and life as a typical young black child growing up in South Africa. The offering features only 2 guest appearances, namely gifted Zola-based MC Mthizo and the extremely talented singer/songwriter Hayden Kula. The artwork for the EP was designed by the multi-talented Froz - who, as you can see, is as deadly with the graphics as he is with the pen.
